Stanthorpe/The Manse, adjacent to the Presbyterian Church, was erected c.1875 as a private residence called Stanthorpe for merchant Alexander Sutherland, replacing an earlier timber house of c.1858 . The two storey rendered brick residence, of unknown authorship, is in the style of the mid-Victorian Conservative Classicism and is dominated by a central pedimented portico and delicate cast iron balcony verandah.
